The young shoots of balsam fir are considered one of the best curatives for the throat and the oldest remedy in Quebec for coughs. An ancestral remedy for the flu, scurvy, cuts and burns, balsam fir has been popular with First Nations for millennia.

  • Cold :

    Place your Fir shoots into a bottle of cold water and let sit for 30 minutes. Pour and enjoy.

    Hot:

    Boil fir shoots for 10 minutes (strong tea). Strain fir shoots and enjoy tea.

    Place fir shoots into strainer and place over cup. Pour hot water into cup and let zsit for 2.5 minutes and removed strainer with fir shoots. Enjoy your cup of tea.
